Tried and True Leadership Principles

In Business, Culture, Leadership by Stephen Rogers

I don’t usually support or encourage the magic lists of things to do, the “silver bullets” that by following the trail accomplishes or achieves the unrealistic.  Lists such as these tend to provide a false sense of security, of being able solve all of the issues if I can just make them work.  As an analytical person I tend to follow a step by step process; but the steps aren’t always the same; they will change based on the conditions, the people, and the environment.

However, I love these 10 Leadership Commandments.  These principles have been implemented by leaders for generations, successfully creating global businesses such as GE, Boeing, and Apple.  Independently they work, but as a whole create the true markings of a leader.  As a leader in your business or organisation, make it your goal to start or keep developing these traits to not only make you and the business successful, but to ensure you take everyone on the journey with you.
